1970 Chevelle price starting point?
I have a 1970 chevelle who I'm selling for a friend. He doesn't want to deal with tire kickers and joy rider's so he asked me if i would sell it for him.
I also plan on taking it to the local cruise night this week to talk to a few Chev heads there. 1970 chevelle w/ 396 motor, not sure if motor is original, I plan on looking up #'s. (not an SS) *Beautiful paint *Interior redone *New brakes w/new drums in rear *New Holley Carb *New battery *New windshield *New Gas Tank *Shocks *All new exhaust from headers to tips (Flowmaster) *Driveshaft Balanced *New door handles *new horns While I was under adjusting the trans linkage I did notice that the floor pan has sheet metal pop rivited in some spots. But rocker panels and all else is solid. The dash also has one of those overlays on top. Lighter apparently overheated and melted around it. thanks........ Some pic's, |

Re: 1970 Chevelle price starting point?
A good friend bought a '70 SS "clone" last year. It was a bit more "done" than the one I see in the pics. White on black, with a black top. Nice car. He paid $21K for it. He put QUIET mufflers on it, and hasn't done anything but drive it since. It has a 468 (.060 over 454) and TH400. Runs VERY strong.
He has since tried to sell it (not a serious "for sale") and hasn't gotten a "nibble" at $25K. Considering the obvious body work you pointed out (rivets in the floors), headers, bench seat, I think I would "start" at $20K and HOPE! In today's sales "environement", things aren't bringing "the big bucks" like just a couple years ago. "Clones" get hit first... Just be sure your friend is realistic in his expectations. Jim |
