Nope.
Mclaren is Mclaren, they just partner with other companies such as Mercedes and BMW.

Who owns McLaren
TAG is a Switzerland-based company that used to own 70% of McLaren. TAG stands for Techniques Avant Garde. It is a high tech R&D company that partners with other companies in various ventures, such as developing aircraft instrumentation and measuring devices and displays. It is owned by two Saudi brothers, Mansour and Aziz Ojjeh.
Incidentally, both the Ojjeh brothers owned a McLaren each. The last one produced, a maroon road car, went to Mansour Ojjeh. Aziz Ojjeh had an electric blue one that was available from the factory last summer. Dunno if it's been sold yet or not. You may have seen or heard about TAG's involvement in Avionics and aviation maintenance. In addition, one of their divisions is TAG Heur, which makes the famous watches. You can read more about TAG on the web, if you're interested. Mercedes Benz now has a substantial investment (share of ownership) in McLaren Cars, Ltd. From the McLaren website...[there is an] "agreement of a long term strategy for DaimlerChrysler to acquire a 40 percent share of the TAGMcLaren group thus beginning a new chapter in the history of McLaren Cars." So Daimler Chrysler owns a significant part of McLaren. Rgds, Faisal. Last edited by faisalkhan; 02-22-2003 at 09:02 AM. |

McLaren ownership
A far more accurate description of the McLaren company parent ownership than my comment. Well said.
The very last car produced was #075 which was Yquem in color. That color best described as a metallic burnt orange. It is the car that is featured on the poster in the Driving Ambition book. It is the color that Dan Kennedy tried to emulate when painting his car.
