Need specs on b series and h22 engines
could someone tell me hp torque and redline of any honda engine b16 b18 b20 and h22. Which one would be the best overall engine to drop in a 89 civic and how easy or hard is it to drop a h22 in and is it worth it. They say b series is better to swap because it is much cheaper than h22

Don't know about redlines. But you have to be more specific than just b16 and b18, there are many different variations of each. For example the b16 could mean b16a (and then there are different versions of that with different hp ratings) and there's the civic type r b16b. Then b18 is even more vague; b18b, b18a, b18c, b18c5. For your last question, it'd be a lot more expensive and harder to put an h22 in your '89. It's a fairly cheap motor, but you'll end up spending around the same amount the motor costs for parts and stuff to get it in the car. If you had a '92+ civic then I'd say it's a good swap, but because of the year car you have it will just be a pain and doubtfully worth all the $, time, and work. |
