i fucked up a tamiya silvia model like that...but i did it with a hair dryer trying to get a warp out of the side...i couldnt feel how hot the hairdryer was...and i didnt bother looking...so i melted the edge of the roof and the A pillar...but im making it all drift damaged so now it looks like its rolled etc.

Crash idea sounds cool. But I want to get it to look real...I wouldnt know how to make it look like it got hit. I wouldnt want a cool color car nice and shiny (chances are it wont come out like that) and be all warped...I need to learn how to weather things out and stuff

you could try and cut out the warped pieces and replace them with crumpled tin foil to look like damage

^ thats a pretty good idea, you can always spray something on the tin foil to help make it more rigid like spray glue etc.. maybe put some putty on it then crumple?

Damn. I melted my Mustang GT bu putting it under a 60W light blub. Damn, i should have made a crash scene...Too bad i ended up turning it into a pan cake (vise sp?) It was a good one too. Perfect paint job too.

You do realise those lights are meant for illuminating building sights - outdoors at night?
They get immensely hot, it isn't hard to burn yourself on them. Best bit is, they only cost about £20 from what I remember.
They're fantastic, my mate uses them mostly to heat his fish in the garage.

As for the car, cut out the bonnet and remove the roof and pillars. Make a mould from the other shell, cast a new resin bonnet and repair the wing. Then make scratchbuilt windscreen pillars and turn it into a cabriolet.....

If you want to make a crash scene, make it look like a construction site and have a pipe or something sitting on top of it. As for weathering, go to Model Railroader.
