Quarter Mile ?

I dont know if this question belongs here but the mods can move it accordingly...I want to see what the quarter mile time is in my moms corolla, I can figure it wont be that fast but I just wanna be able to mark it off on my street...How can I measure a quarter mile on a long ass road without a tape measure ?

maybe erase the trip counter thing under the odometer and roll till you get to a quarter of a mile? It'd have to have stock wheels to get it close to accurate. Hopefully someone else knows of an easier more accurate way.

Re: Quarter Mile ?

Yeah I was thinking of that...A friend of mine said that I should reset it and let it go to 2 and a half and that would be a quarter mile because 2 1/2 is a quarter of 10...I dont know how accurate that is though so I was wondering if anyone had better ideas

Does it matter? It aint gonna be impressive.

You could maybe go to a strip during a open track night and really find out.

Re: Quarter Mile ?

Nah it doesnt really matter for the corolla but it will for the civic (also a reason why i was trying to figure it out) and because I dont live in the states its not that easy to just get to a track

Buy a G-tech for $60, it will messure the 1/4 mile accurately up to a few feet plus give you a fairly good idea how fast your car is. They have 1/4 mile time, trap speed, 0-60, etc.

Re: Quarter Mile ?

They're only for $60 I may get one in that case...Looking at it I thought it would cost a shitload of money so I never checked into it.

B1SiR6A : thanks for my signature compliment.
Ya, just go on Ebay.com or a pawn shop. You can pick up a G-Tech, or a Tazzo for cheap.

if you told me the year of the car, or just went to like motor trend or something, you can get a rough estimate of how shitty the corolla will run.
