2001 Sway Bar Links

Are there any special tools needed to replace the sway bar links? Is this a driveway job or would I be better off letting a mechanic do it ?

Nothing too special. I changed mine today in about 1.5 hours.
Remove the wheel, spray the threads with penetrating oil for good measure, a 14mm spanner removes the nuts. You may need to use an allan key in the end of the stud to prevent it from rotating while you turn the nut. I even used a pair of needle nose vise-grip on the joint side of one stud (damaging the old joint doesn't matter).
You can use a pry bar and or large channel lock plyers to move the sway bar aroud to allow the studs room to get in and out of the holes.

Sway bar links can be a pain or they can be simple. I usually just break them off. Then grab the balls with vice grips & use an impact to remove the nuts. They rarely come off the way they should.
