which one? obvious answer!!
alright, so ive got this 95 corolla sittin here, with, as of saturday, 200k on it. i was thinking about swapping a 1.3L turbo motor out of a toyota starlet into it, and have an extremely built 11 second grocery getter, but, ive always loved rear wheel drive since the first time i drifted my mommys 4runner in the snow, so, im thinking about buying another 240sx. hopefully this time it wont start on fire. buy one for around 2 grand, fix what needs to be fixed, and rebuild/turbo the ka. so anyone whos turbo'd the ka, if you want to email me or pm me or even post in here, just say Hi, and ill ask what i need to know. im not gonna type out some long ass post.
thanks in advance Paul

Re: which one? obvious answer!!
since no one is posting, ill ask a few questions.
one, who or where is the best place to learn about turbos. such as, how do i know when they begin to spool, what parts do what, etc two, i hear there is no exhaust or intake manifold for turbo-ing a ka, is that still true? three, whats ideal compression for spooling around 15psi im still researching at the exact moment, so bear with me

Re: which one? obvious answer!!
heres what i have so far. looked at turbonetics, it said something about that in the faq so i checked it out. im hope to go with a t3/t4 hybrid, but i dont know what kind of trim to go with. it says comes with the option on to4b and to4e. whats the difference?
also, what size waste gate should i get? Spearco 35mm, 40 mm, or 50 mm? it also gave me the option of having a Spearco Tial 38mm, 40mm, and 46mm, with 9 different settings up to 1.5 bar, whats the difference between tial and regular wastegates? i did find a header, it says top mount SS fits ka24de. sound right? Already planned on going with the RFL BOV, if im going to have one, why not make it Really Fucking Loud?? what size intercooler? im guessing the bigger the better, kinda, but what will fit best on a stock front bumper of either a s13 or s14? and if i go too big do i get more lag? well, i guess thats all for tonight. thanks Paul

Re: which one? obvious answer!!
havent found much on trims or what the numbers in the names of the turbo's mean. i was looking at phatka-t, and they have the PK-GT-32 and the PK-GT-35 has the Garret GT-32/35 center and custom compressor and turbine housings. whats the difference between the two? pitch? size of the turbines?
looks like the phatka-t intercooler would be the way to go, almost perfect fit, and good cooling. maybe go with their fuel system too. since i dont know how to piece one together. im guessing their manifold is also better than the one i was looking at last night. requires 38mm tial wastegate so that tells me what i need there.

Re: which one? obvious answer!!
If the answer is so obvious, why don't you know it? And before you start buying stuff, make sure you know exactly what you will be getting and what you need and how it'll all work together.
