Rota wheels, any quality issues?

I am possibly getting a set of Rota wheels, and I just wanted to find out if there are any quality issues with them? Any input is welcome, let me know if you have a set, if you like them, how durable they have been, etc. Thanks guys!

Slipstreams or....?

You pay for what you get... And, Rotas are pretty cheap.
They're not perfect... I read that a guy broke his Rotas on another board.

slipstreams

A guy broke them!? What do you mean "broke"? How did he do it?

Anyway, I liked them because they are cheap and still light, two very desirable features to me.

The guy drove them hard on a pothole-ridden street...

piscorpio should get one 16" vx-8r, 1 roteslipstream, 1 kosei K1, and one RH cp-035.... then he will be happy!

HAHAHAHA!!! You guys know me too well. Theres just too many choices!

Velox - I think Id rather go with 15" so these get ruled out, plus igo4bmx stole my thunder on these.

Racing Harts - Way too expensive, I dont think Ill be spending that much on wheels for a while...maybe if I get a second job.

Kosei - I actually never really liked these, ya they're light and cheap, but....

Rotas - seem to be right on for me (at this time anyway) they are cheap, they come 15", they're light, and they look pretty good (at least I think so, and i can get them in bronze, which is the color Ive been wanting for a while)

You guys happy now!

So xivera, getting back to what you said, how did this guy "break" his Rota slipstreams?

I too have been looking at the Rotas, namely the Sub-zero. Good looking wheel. $100/wheel in 15" variety too.

But what actually happened to the wheel? Bent rim, broken spoke, did it just explode on contact?

I actually got mine off eBay ... I paid a little too much for them $475 shipped ... I found out a day after I bought them that I can get them for $400 shipped somewhere else ... If you're interested I can direct you to a person you can talk to ...
