Unhappy '01 rodeo problems.......HELP!

Hey all.....I'm new to this forum, glad to have found it as my wifes rodeo seems to be falling apart. This has been a great vehicle for us and we keep oil changed every 3k, just seems that lately we are having problems. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

1. Rear Windsheild wiper quit working and the fuse looks to be fine.

2. Eating up oil somewhere and doesn't seem to be leaking anywhere.

3. The front grill is sqeeking when going over bumps/ slow speeds, and is driving my wife crazy.

4. Check engine comes on when very low on fuel and then will go out later on.

5. Slight jerk when taking off from start.

This vehicle only has 50k on it, wish we werent having these problems already.
If anyone has any solutions to any of these problems, please help.

Thnks

Re: '01 rodeo problems.......HELP!

1. try a search here or at planetisuzoo.com, I know I read something about this before.

2. Oil. How much is it eating? If it is over 1qt per 1k isuzu should give you a new engine (the dealer will need to moniter it), The main things that lead to oil consumption is, a dirty PCV (12 bucks to replace), dirty EGR valve, port tube (behind the trottle body) and exhaust tube off the EGR. These can be cleaned up with about 1.5 hours of DIY work and a 1 dollar can of carb clean (safe for O2 sensors). Again search for EGR here. Last thing to do, it to run a couple of bottles of chevron techron concentrate (10bucks at target) in you gas for a couple of tanks.

3. The squeak is coming form the rubber bumpstops where the hood rests on. Find the side that is sqeaking and give is a 1/2 turn and a dab of grease on top of the rubber bump stop.

4. it the CEL light comes on with low gas it is caused by a faluty fuel sender unit in the gas tank. It is covered under your 10yr/120k warrenty. If you have a CEL the code will be saved in the ECU for 30-50 starts before it is cleared. So when it happens again take it is have the code read and have it replace.

5. Jerk, thump clunk. Search for it here. The problem is that the slip yolk in the drive shaft needs to be regreased. Some dealers cover this under warrenty other dont. I paid 50 bucks for my dealer to regrease it for me.

So for a few bucks a few of the small things you can do yourself. And a couple of other things your dealer should be able to do for free.

Check that the wiper blade is tight. Mine worked its way loose and you have to lift the cover at the base of the wiper and tighten the nut. Good luck.
