VN...Vibration/noise??
Hi ya all...
I have a 1990 VN Commy, recently there is a sort of vibration/noise (or both) from front drivers side.. That can be felt through steering wheel and accel pedal.. It is intermitent (not constant) and is sort of like something is loose..Not sure... It is not loud and feels like wheel bounce..or bearings are stuffed. I have checked bearings (seems ok) strut and shock seem ok and ball joint is not loose..any ideas??? I found a stuffed rubber on the left side sway link and replaced today (have not driven it today so dont know if that was it yet).. Any ideas welcome.. Is driving me nuts.. Thanks.. . |

Re: VN...Vibration/noise??
Front castor bushes are worn, the rod that goes from under the radiator to the lower control arm is the castor rod. Check the bushes at both ends.

Re: VN...Vibration/noise??
Could also be gearbox mounts. My VS SS felt like the wheel balance was out but only happened at certain speeds. turned out to be the mounts. Monitor when it happens ie RPM, speed etc. this could be you gremlin. But if you can hear a noise in the drivers side probably isn't the gearbox mounts judging by the location of the noise and where your gearbox is fitted.
