Thumbs up All New Mexico Road Racers, Mazda Miata Mania April 3-4

All road racing enthusiasts in NM or nearby are welcome and invited to join us for a weekend of fun in the wind and sun at Sandia Motor Speedway's 1.6 mile 14 turn road course April 3-4. Event includes a drivers school for new or refreshing drivers. Event includes race prep car races - vinatge FV's to late model vettes included. A lapping group for street cars will put permanent grins on drivers!

Southwest Motorsports club hosts 4 or 5 events each year at Sandia. Being a volunteer club run by members, we always need and welcome (beg for) workers, drivers, spectators, sponsors, students, etc. Work a couple events and your membership is free. There is not better place to see a race than from a corner stand 40 feet from the reverberating unmuffled sounds of an engine turning 6500 rpm!

Re: All New Mexico Road Racers, Mazda Miata Mania April 3-4

Did you miss the wettest weekend in Albuquerque history since mid 1800's? Over 2.3 inches of rain Fri to Sat. About 50 brave souls, drivers and workers, braved the elements and left with huge grins. That is in spite of temperatures in the 35 to 40 degree range, wind in the 15 to 35 mph range, rain from spitting to downpour, and about an inch of hail in about 5 minutes - with cars on track! Real racers do it in spite of the weather!
