Re: 2003 and 2004 2.7l intermittent hesitation

I would love to

Some 2003 and 2004 2.7l engines have an intermittent hesitation. Lets say you were going down the road at 30 mph and you press the gas it would take a few seconds for the engine trans to decide what to do (or hesitate) . I have noticed it mostly on santa fe . Anyway HMA came out with new software for the ecu (Engine Control Module) that will streighten it out .

I wish i could go into technical details about it but im a technitian not an engineer .

Quite a few of my customers complain about this hesitation and there was nothing i could do for them accept say that the vechicle was operating as designed . I just figured you hyundai owners might want to know about it .

mine doesn't do that, but it has 3 times now, just paused while driving a constant speed. just like it shut off and back on for a fraction of a second. I've got about 18K on the clock.
