Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Amazing! Can you tell more about how you make those disks into that metallic effect?

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Discovered the mesh front the front air intake into the fujimi p.e. for the yellow one , I removed the black closing. It seemed strange to me it was a closed hole.... After some @#[#*##@ I placed a tamiya mesh and I gave a black layer of paint
installed the swing arm and the shock absorber.... again some @#[#*##@ the shock absorber doesn't fit from below as per instruction but from above.... so I scratched the gold oil tank in the attempt and I had to mask it again on the bike with a layer of silver and clear yellow (alclad). I made two little holes on the swing arm stud and placed the chain tensioners: |

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Finally after some putting and sanding the violet paint has been added.... The color is the tamiya one (X-16) with some drop of white. I had to cheat the white balance as the color in the picture seems too blue like the first picture. The second picture is more real...
I sanded the inner joint into the front fairing as it is one piece with the side fairing.... I begun to work on the exhaust.... |

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
To make the shift linkage I used the top studio Yamaha YZR one the longest. But it's always short. After an hour of rethinking I decidec for a copper tube of the exact measure. So I made an extension of 1-2 mm

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Excellent improvision Andrea - a great solution to the problem with the shifter rod - also the work you did before with the paint on the cowls = that purple looks right for the Evangelion color. So far your bike is coming out excellent despite the pitfalls of the kit - John

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
The violet is on and now the black.... a boring job to mask the tank and rear cowl...
and then the exhaust.... primer, ts-14 and alclad chrome... and the shading job.... the terminal... See you next time! |

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
WOW Andrea - Beautiful replication of the heat staining on the pipe - one question though - if the pipe is stainless steel then the pipe and exhaust can should only have a goldish hue to it, but if the pipe and exhaust can are titanium then the heat staining is right but the pipe and exhaust can should not be "chrome" shiny - it should be more a flat brushed silver. I've never seen the grade titanium used for exhausts that is chrome - just my thoughts - It does look good though - I like the way you blended the Blue, violet and the gold on the heat staining - John

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Hello John
probably you are right, but I discovered the picture below (2011) and I liked the exhaust, so I decided to replicate it for the model.... |

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Andrea - I quite agree with you - it does look good - very good "fade" effect between the colors - how did you accomplish that? - John

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Andrea - I understand the color choices for the heat staining, but I meant how did you do the "fading" between the colors - I see you airbrushed it but how did you keep the colors from over shadowing each other?? - John
