Car won't start after installing used instrument cluster.

I just bought a used instrument cluster ( speedometer/temp guage/odometer cluster) when i installed this unit Anti theft blinks and wont allow me to start the car. Does anybody know who to make this cluster unit read my cars computer chip?
Please help me Thank You!! this is for a 1996 Buick skylark custom model sedan 3.1 liter 6cyl engine

I think I am about to embark on the same journey. When you turn the key in the ingnition would the lights not come on? That's what my car is doing. They told me that I need to replace the Passlock lock cylinder, but reading people's stories on here has me thinking there is no point.
