Re: 3000gt SL vs Ford Probe GT
Wtf... leave for a while, come back and what the hell is going on. A Probe GT beating an SL? Lmfao... Man those things are all over the place and I race em all the time and never got beat by one. And Zanark, the SL will get into the 14's. Mine stock runs 14.9. Lmfao... nicely put Yogs

lol god damn ive learned something. And Im highly impressed by those #'s on a stock SL, hell I thought the only 3s worth buying was the Vr4 guess I was mistaken. Still gotta admit the Probe was the best FWD ford ever made! Even though it was made by mazda lol. any ways any of you ever seen a Convertible VR4 in person? I bet that woudl be interesting imagine all the females taht would flock and all the supras youde just rape with the right mods. Ah to be rich.

Re: 3000gt SL vs Ford Probe GT
I have one thing to say. The SL in 3000 GT SL, stands for SLOW. That race would come down to driving ability. The sad part about the SL is that it makes roughly 60 more HP than the Probe, but only runs about .5-.6 tenths faster in the quarter mile. And thats in optimal conditions. In my opinion the only 3000GT is a VR4 AWD. Now that is a performer, not a throw back base model.

Re: 3000gt SL vs Ford Probe GT
I think it has already been decided which of the two is faster, but just to put this to rest. I have owned a 1996 Probe GT with cat-back exhaust and intake (that's all it had, nothing else). I just recently bought a 1992 Base 3000GT with no mods. Without a doubt the 3000GT is the better performer and much quicker both 0-60 and 1/4 mile. As for the last post, is .5-.6 seconds anything to laugh at? That's a big difference on the track here in AZ. Maybe the horsepower to track time gain there doesn't look great, but with the weight difference I say it's awesome.
As it was said before, just my $.02 |
