I have a 94 SL so I am a bias but 94 was the best SL year becasue of the following reasons:

glass covered lights don't scratch like 95+ lexan
1st year for projector lights
6 disc cd changer w/ infinity system (97+ SL did not have this)
pre 1996 means no communist OBD II system the govt can plug into for emissions
that 94-96 front bumper style is the most attractive

So I'd say the combination of available leather, no OBD II, projector lamps covered in glass, the 6 disc infinity stereo, and that bumper style makes her cool.

The floor mats in 94 were ugly though as were the wheels.

I'd say the 96 mats with "3000GT" written in both mats were the best.
The 91-93 SL 5 spoke SL wheels are a great replacement for the ugly 7 spokes on the 94 SL.

If you uprgade the 17 in spyder 5 spoke for the 18 in 96 VR4 chrome wheels are awesome!

Post a pic of your 5 spoke wheels.

To my understanding all 94 base and SL had the 7 spoke 16 inch wheels. The only difference was chrome plated versions of the same wheel were optional on the SL.

Are you sure someone who owned the car before you did not change the wheels or if you bought it new did the dealer put 93 wheels on instead?

Re: best 3000gt

Yeah, based on www.3kgt.com, the 5 spoke chrome were only stock on the vr4 in 94.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

They don't have that right. I'm not sure of all the years that the five spokes were standard, but they were the same on my 94 and on my 95.
