Question 1jzgte or stock sc300 motor

whats the advantage of a 1jzgte over the stock motor why swap it if its a 3.0 liter and the 1j is a 2.5 liter isnt it a kind of downgrade?

I am not too familiar with the 1jz-gte, but I believe it is a single turbo motor found in the Supra in Japan. The more sought after swap is the 2jz-gte which is the 3.0L twin turbo motor found in Supra in the US. Either one of these motors can generate much more horsepower than the 2jz-ge found in the SC300 and non-turbo Supras. I have seen videos of SC's with the 2jz swap pushing over 1000hp!

The 1jzgte is a smaller version of the 2jzget, both are Twin turbo, but as you know the 1jz is a 2.5L

and if i'm not mistaken the same motor in the sc300 is the same as a non turbo MKIV supra, might be slightly diffrent, but i think it's the same which i thought the n/a MKIV was a 2jzGE, so it may be diffrent not sure

uh.... definately go the 1jz-gte.... thats what nearly all of the soarers over here have. 2.5L twin turbo. they are assloads faster than the 3L V6. easy 2 mod too.
