2006 sonata won't start

I have a 2006 sonata 3.3 v6. I went to start the car and the ligts in the dash faintly flash and there is a ticking noise. I tried taking the the key out and hitting the alarm but it makes no difference. Anyone know what it could be?

Re: 2006 sonata won't start

It sounds like the battery is dead to me. If it is still the original battery then that is likely the problem.

Either take the battery out and have it tested (many part stores will do it for free) or have the car jumpstarted. If it starts this way then I would replace the battery.

You also might want to make sure the battery terminals are clean and the cables tight and getting a good connection.

It was the battery. Thanks for the help. I have seen a lot of batteries go bad but I have never seen a car act like that before.
