~*~*~Custom Exhaust Tutorial~*~*~
Step 1: Get materials, u will need 2 pipes (one that will fit in the other one), a dremel, silver paint (silver sharpie also works), paint pen, a file, sandpaper, a x-acto knife, glue, tape, index card, and putty. here are some pics of wut u will need.
Step 2: cut the pipes like so Step 3: when u put the pipes together u will c there is a little gap... we can fix this witha cut peice of index card. after u cutthe index card u put it around the silver pipe and insert the silver pipe with the index card on it into the barss pipe. Step 4: apply glue around the silver pipe to hold the index card and the pipe in the brass pipe. u might also want to use a lil krazy glue. DONT USE TOO MUCH GLUE.a little glue will go a long way. the glue is the lil ring that looks like weld... Step 5: now is when u will use ur glazing putty. apply putty ontop of the glue joint that u have just applied. Step 6: Now you must wait for the putty to dry. i wood give it a good 20 minutes. while u r waiting u kan get ur sand paper out. Step 7: After the putty has dried sand smooth like so, also if u want u kan cut the pipe on a slant like i have done. Step 8: Now that u hopefully sanded everything down with no problems paint the brass pipe black for the C/F look. Step 8: Make sure the black is dry, now u kan do the silver area i used the sharpie b/c it was easier, and it fit nicely in tehre, but u kan also use silve rpaint if u need to. here is the final product. Lemme know what you all think, i think it came out very nicely am going to use this on my next import i build. |
