Help, already had engine replaced!
Hello,
I am deperate. I am an american soldier that was shipped overseas to Darmstadt Germany. I bought this 2000 LS2 in december 2005 on leave in oklahoma city. Since then I have had nothing but troubles with it. I have driven it approxomitly 6k miles ( has 88k on the body now) and I have replaced several things on it, including a new engine ( with 24k miles on it ) now it is having the same troubles which include but arent limited to: The "Low coolant warning light" and "Engine coolant and automatic transaxle fluid temperature warning light" comes on and stays on. I checked the coolant and it is just fine on both levels ( amount and consistancy ) intermitantly the right and left blinkers wont work while driving but as soon as I hit the hazards lights they begin to work again. The "engine coolant temperature gage" stays at a cool and acceptable temperature. I also notice a rattling ( almost like the muffler is loose but it isnt ) maybe more like a popping of popcorn sound toward the back of the vehicle. These are the exact symptoms that happened a week or so before I had to replace the engine. I drove it for 2 weeks after the replacement and it is doing this again. Further more I am in Germany and dont know of a dealership around here that could look at it. Help! Thanks Paul |

Re: Help, already had engine replaced!
Sounds like who ever installed your engine messed up some wirring, I would try to bring it back to who ever installed it in the first place if posible, for the popping noise, it sounds to me like backfiring, maybe due to engine timming, here is a list of stuff you should check :Spark plugs
Compression - Check for sticking or leaking valves Valve timing Intake manifold for correct vacuum at idle For your coolant light isues might be your coolant sensor, you need to get it to a shop some how to get it hooked up to a scan tool before you blow onther engine!! , hopefully some of this will help , good luck |

Re: Help, already had engine replaced!
It sounds to me like who ever changed the engine didnt put any grounding straps back on the engine. A grounded engine is more important than most believe.
