What do the w7's retail for? I don't know, but if that's a good deal on em I would say go for it. Let us know how the install goes if you give it the green light .

to properly setup the W7 you need an amp with over 1000 watts...and that will drain the battery on your civic in like 2 months or less...that is unless you get capacitors or a new alternator or both. and neither are cheap....just thought that i would throw that on the table...oh yeah btw, i have heard one of these beasts in person and they are really awesome sounding..they can go as low as 15hz notes...good sound

not necessary drain your battery fast. a JBL 1200.1 will pull less current than a regular class A/B amps. my friend has it on his 1997 acura integra for almost a year now. no problems there. also, you can get a 1 farad capacitor for around $70 nowadays.

I think that the deal you are getting for 2 of those subs is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I have the Mobile Entertainment April/May issue in front of me where they actually tested the 12W7-3 in their lab and in the car and they said that it goes for about $750. When asked how the 12W7 compares to the 12W3's and 12W6's in terms of output they said this, 12W7 has 158% more displacement potential than a 12W3 (8.2 dB), 12W7 has 166% more displacement potential than a 12W6 (8.5 dB). The average in-car SPL with test tones was about 126dB. That is much more than enough from a single 12 inch subwoofer. imagine 2 or even 3. They rate the 12W7 @ 750wRMS. Now multiply that by 2 and you get 1500wRMS multiply that by 3 and you get 2250wRMS. If you ask me, unless you are going into competition that will be WAYYYY TO MUCH power for your civic hatchback. You will lose your hearing. You would also need atleast 800wRMS free for every sub if you want it to perform up to your $550 potential. If anything go with 2 12W7's in a fiberglass tub facing out toward the hatch with the 2 amps on the inside facing the front. Use two 1 farad caps and hook them up to an Optima Yellow Top Battery or Lightning Audio Battery. Both of those can handle lots of power. I have a a Pioneer FH-P404 head unit running 5.25" JL Audio TR525-CX in my front doors with TR690-TX in the rear deck, also hooked up to the head unit is a Rockford Fosgate Punch 500a2 pushing my JL Audio PowerWedge box which has three 10" W0 subwoofers that put out a total 375wRMS, i have a Monster 1 farad capacitor feeding it extra power. My system sounds amazing. Well i hope i helped you out. Thanks for listening.

okay so i was goin to power them w/ either a USAmps 4000w amp -- or tha new AMple audio 1500x - 1500w RMS @ 1ohm --- perfect for 3-12w7 -- although tha USAmps 4000w would be soo much better-- then i would get either a BattCap(= 100 Farads), or a 15 farad alumapro cap. ~oh & i would prob get 1 or 2 SVR batteries...~

Whatever amps you use remember you are dealing with 750 watts continuous not total so you need atleast that to have it perform to its potential. Oh and make sure the THD is as low as possible because you want a clean clear noise free signal going to the sub. Make sure you use a pre-amp line driver. Keep me updated on what you do, i want to see the final product.

it's a proven fact that the average person can't hear THD below 3% in a bass system
