align or aim headlights 99 suburban
Having trouble adjusting the alignment on 99 Suburban headlights, do these have any adjustment to them or are these fixed?
Thanks for posting on disabling the DRL by pulling fuse #15, too easy . To share: finally got around to changing the rotor (@130M miles) not as bad as expected , glad to share a few tips if anyone needs to do it too. |

Howdy: My sub is a '99 carryover, which means it's the old body style. So, yes there are adjustment screws for the headlamps. They are hidden in holes in the support bar in front of the radiator and are deep down. Use a flashlight to find them. They have an outside socket or an inside torx. Can't remember which does which or which does up, down, left or right, but you'll figure it out, I'm sure..........Steve

My friends and neighbors thank you for the unblinding advice on the aiming advice, too. Any advice on my other posting regarding the fuel gauge error? Is there any basic troubleshooting I can do, or is it a slam dunk that the tank needs to be dropped? If yes, I am not going to takle that one. TF |

Q1. I also need to aim the headlights on my 2000 Corvette. Can I get the same great instructions? q2. Also, I just purchased the '00 a few months ago. It has an annoying whine or squeal like a bearing noise in either the tensioner or fan belt. Any history here for likely suspects? It may be the original belt. Listening with my eyes it seems to be coming from the belt tensioner. q3. And, I am getting ready for my first oil change. Bought a low profile floor jack, but if the lift points are where I think I see them, they are about a foot in from the edge of the car. I am considering buying a 2x10 and using it as a ramp to get the car up enough to get the floor jack in far enough to hit the lift point. I'm obviously no pro, but I do like to do things the right safe way... Are the lift points actually in about a foot and is the an alternative lift technique to get access the filter and drain plug? |

Steve THANKS! you just saved me alot of work. I was about to replace the headlights on my suburban and saw they could not be reached from behind. It did not sounded logical to have to dismantle half the front just for bulbs. So I searched the net, and your post came out. I went back out, laughint and with my tools and bulbs. Job done. Now I'll align them tonight. Any suggestion of distance from the behicle to the spotting wall to properly align them? suggestions? thanks! greetings from Mexico. |
