Few questions would appreciate any kind of response...
A few questions that i would appreciate of anyone knows anything about them. I have a 1996 Grand Am SE.
1) For my exhaust i cut off the muffler and put straight piping out with an exhaust tip on it. it sounds great, but will it pass inspection/emissions? 2) I put an air filter cone on replacing the crap stock one. Is there a way to disable the sensor or utilize it so my check engine light doesn't stay on? 3) Is there anyway to "clear" the taillights that you know of? 4) My instrument panel has a short of some sort because it keeps blowing fuses. Does anyone know how i should go about troubleshooting this problem? If anyone can answer any of these questions i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks guys. |

You should pass, since the muffler really doesn’t do anything with the emissions, all it does is muffle the sound, hence muffler.
I’m unclear as to what you mean about the filter, did you hook up your IAT sensor or unhook it or something, what motor do you have You cannot "clear" the 96-98 lights, you can get after market ones from www.aedcentral.com What fuse is shorting out? |

Well i knew the muffler was for the sound but somebody had told me it does to a little bit for the emissions, but either way... good...
i have the 3100 series V6 engine and to take out the old air filter i had to unhook the sensor that was attached to it. the fuse that is blowing is for the instrument panel... so i can't see how was i am driving at night... but that is why i got a Cobra detector... haha thanks for the help ~bud~ |

If you take out the tail lights and take them apart you can remove the red lense inside the light hence making them clear.

The outer shell of the tail light is clear plastic with black lines runing through it. Behind that clear plastic is a thin red lense. So if you take the light appart and remove that lense your left with just the clear exterior of the light and the black lines.
