Ferrari 641, Tamiya, 1/12
So... it's been a while, but I don't build an 1/12th kit over the weekend ... (anymore...)
I first saw this kit shortly after release at about 12 years of age, shortly after reunification in a store in bavaria, and was very excited to see that such a big kit exists. Today a nice collection of 1/12th kits is waiting to be build, because I don't know where to put the completed models; the display cabinets are more suited to smaller scales. But it's been a long time since I built a big one, so... I built it almost OOB, since there was enough stuff in the B - I only added some cables, etched DZUS and made new belts. The decals were made by MSM. Painted with decanted TS8 and different blacks, greys and metallic colours from the TS range as well as some Alclad and a few handbrushed details with Aquacolor. Basically everything fits, some assembly groups are held by screws - one more at the front would have been nice, because when you fit the cowling there is a small gap unless you apply light pressure. The windscreen had a slight crack at the sprue, also one tire was cracked very slightly, the tires were either strange or old, so I stuffed them with some foam. Hope you like it.

Very nice build!, Clean, with great detail, and I'm sure that Nigel himself would approve....
I have all of these kits in the series by Tamiya except this one and the Lotus JPS. Excellent work! |
