Component instead of sub?

So I've decided I've had enough problems with my truck and am going to sell it. I am thinking about selling my current set-up (1 12" kicker l5 and jbl gto601.1 running 580 rms at 2 ohm.) I just bought it all less than a month ago and it all sounds good, but I'm thinking about going to an amped component setup. I spent probably around $600-700 for that setup, so around how much for a decent component set and it is worth going component or should i just stay with decent door and rear speakers and a sub in the trunk? My new car is a 4 door sedan if that makes any difference.
