My all time favourite car

My favourite car is the triumph dolomite sprint.
I know theres a few clubs out there but what do you people think about it? cos all my friends and family think its a shed!

I think thats a fantastic looking car... it reminds me of a 2002 bmw. What year is that one?

they made them from 72-80 and i think thats about a 78-79ish. there was 22,000+ of the sprint model produced and recent counts are as low as 490!!!

Its got a 2 litre 16 valve straight 4 producing 127 bhp @ 5,700rpm, which is still good for todays standards! 120ft/Ib torque at 4000rpm, 4 gears with over drive on third and top (total of 6 forward gear ratios), 0-60 in 8.7 seconds, 115 mph top speed, front engine rear wheel drive.
The engine was a saab 99 variant as triumph had designed and made the engine for saab (back then they didnt make there own engines), triumph then used that engine, bored it out, put a 16 valve head on it and twin SU carbs and wollah u got a sporty saloon thatll battle with the european cars (2002, alfeta, 320i etc)

Kind of reminds me of those Datsun 180B and 210 sedans (saw and drove a bunch of them in Australia but I don't see many of them in the states - I think they are called 510's over here). Talk about one tough, overbuilt little car.
