Question 145 MPH Speedometer

I was removing my gauges, tracing a short, and when I pryed the needle off of the speedometer, I broke the pin coming out of the odometer, where the needle connects to. I need to get a new odometer assembly, and I've searched E-BAY and found few. My question, is there any difference on that assembly from a 85, 110, or 145 MPH speedo? I have a 145 MPH, and I "assume" that only the face of the gauge is different. Does anyone know if this is true? Thanks in advance for any info you can give me.

A 110 and a 145 are about the same. Only difference with the 110's and 145's the 110's have speed governors on them. I have a cluster guage out of a 92 RS Auto - v-8 for sale on ebay for 45.00 everything in it works fine.

Re: 145 MPH Speedometer

im not entirely sure, but seeing as distance traveled is a result of time and speed. and your speedometer measures speed. therefore the gearing in the 145 is probly different from the other two. but im not entirely sure.

Re: 145 MPH Speedometer

if its electronic it shouldnt make a difference. and 85's are only cable driven up to 88 i think. if its the same basic shape and all it should just bolt in.

if the thing is electronic then it sends a signal that tells the needle how far to move... so if say you put a 110 speedo on ur 145, then when u hit 145 the speedo would only be at 110. but that would be an awesome excuse to speed

Re: 145 MPH Speedometer

You can get a cool digital speedometer that goes up to 300 mph for the third gens , it's a direct bolt in for the 1990 - 1992's and it has all the harware and wiring setup for the older skelw 3rds. I've been thinking about getting one , they look nifty o.o
