New '97 Rodeo LS
That's right! I've got a new car in my stable, a 1997 Isuzu Rodeo LS, just picked up yesterday for $4,200 in pretty great condition, with only 72k miles. There are a few minor problems, mainly with electronics, but I look at it as a way to start working on cars, which I've wanted to do for a while. What better way to get into automotive work than on my own car, and what better time than NOW, with the first car I can really do anything with (my last car was bought new and didn't make it past the warrantee mileages).
I am very excited to have a car capable of off-roading, towing, camping, just general outdoorsiness, etc. I have some big plans, but for now, being my general plan, I'm just going to run it to the ground over and over, and continue restoring it, eventually building my ultimate dream suv. What a good base to start with! Anyways, here are some pictures. The second to last picture shows a reservoir at the far left that has no cap on, and is empty of fluids. Does anyone know what that reservoir is for? The car did not come with any manuals or anything. It doesn't seem to affect the drive, but who knows what it's doing to my engine... |

Re: New '97 Rodeo LS
the missing cap is the windshield washer bottle.
Check out car-parts.com to find a junk yard that will have that missing piece. Best of luck with your new ride!

Re: New '97 Rodeo LS
Thanks!
And it turns out the car is an S, not an LS, and is therefore not 4-wheel drive Oh well, just something else to upgrade! |
