Door Ajar Warning Lite Stays "ON"

My "Door Ajar" RED Warning Lite stays "ON" with ALL DOORS CLOSED and Ignition Switch "ON" on my 2006 Freestar. It beeps for about 1-minute and comes back beeping after every brake pedal activation. Also, the driver side door always automatically UNLOCKS after I lock it. This is an intermittent problem which started when the weather was cold but is happening more and more now even above 70-degreesF. Can anybody help???

Spray the plungers on the door sills with WD-40 and work them in and out a little bit.
Check the sensor on the rear hatch, too. For the door lock problem, reprogram your key fob. You can get information on this on the Forum.

Re: Door Ajar Warning Lite Stays "ON"

Keeping the sensors on the power sliding doors clean is also necessary for them to operate properly. My doors were not opening, and my mechanic just cleaned the sensors and they work properly now. I clean them every 6 months. Also, the rollers at the top and bottom of the door need to be cleaned and lubed every 6-12 months to keep the doors in good working order.
