Cash for Clunkers/Windstars?
Go here to see if your Windstar (or any other vehicle) meets the 18 MPG or lower requirement for qualifying for the "Cash for Clunkers" program:
. http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/sbs.htm . .... all 3.8's and some 3.0's meet the criteria. Many Windstars will probably go to the steel jaws in this program. |

Re: Cash for Clunkers/Windstars?
Oh that's interesting; a similar scheme launched over here just a few weeks ago. I don't know what the official title is but it's commonly known as 'Cash for Bangers'. No fuel consumption requirements that I'm aware of, I think the vehicle just has to be a minimum ten years old, and it will qualify for a £2,000 reduction off the price of a new car. I don't really follow the news but I think I heard the scheme was somehow flawed or poorly-drafted and it all turned out to be a bit of a damp squib. My Escort is fourteen years old but I've no interest in parting with it, provided I can keep the rust at bay. Handy little bonus though for anybody who was already thinking of doing a trade-in.

I wish our USA rules were so liberal ... I've got a '70 truck and an '83 Escort that I would finally be parting with.
