Dyno results
I haven't posted in here in a while. But this will prolly help some of you out in terms of setup selection.
Lately I have been on a bit of an "efficiency" trip. Trying to maximize power without turning up the boost. I think I did a pretty decent job here. That is at .85-.87kg/cm2(12psi) That is at .5kg/cm2(7psi) My setup: GroundZero manifold Garrett T3/T04E 50trim w/.63ar turbine housing Turbonetics evolution 35mm wastegate 3" custom downpipe made by me TurboXS Type RFL Blow Off valve Boostdesigns intercooler kit Enthalpy Tuned ECU 615cc injectors 300zx MAFS Apexi power intake Apexi SAFC Apexi AVC-R Apexi N1 exhaust IAP oil line kit MSD SS blaster coil w/ my rewiring mod (http://www.ka-t.org/ignitionrewire.htm ) ACT heavy duty pressure plate with organic disk NGK BKR7E-11 plugs Magnecor plug wires Walbro 255lph fuel pump rewired (http://www.ka-t.org/walbrorewire.htm) S14 seat Stripped trunk My Overboost protector ( http://www.ka-t.org/overboost.htm ) Yea as you can see, that downpipe was FUN to make! LOL I had to weld that with a AC current stick welder to add to the fun. 304l isn't too stick welder friendly. I basically spent 3 hours doing tack welds to weld it together to control heat. Installing the manifold was very easy. Turbo/manifold made it in the car within 2 hours. That is including taking out the old setup. But yea, the old setup was trash compared to my new stuff. Old setup was: Revhard log manifold T04B .60ar T5/T6 trim/.69ar on center housing w/P-Trim wheel. The only thing I liked about that setup was that P-Trim wheel.haha Either way, I just thought I woudl share how much a tubular manifold and tangenal turbine housing along with an effiecent turbo for your engine can do! Most turbo'd KAs make 290whp at 12psi. A friend of mine with T04E 57trim, revhard, and JWT cams made 310 uncorrected WHP. His cams are 256/256 and mine are 242/248 duration. Lift is close to the same. Enjoy

That's seems like really good power for that little guy.
Kudos to you! The engine seems almost peaky 'tho, why is that? Cam timing? |

Re: Dyno results
It does? I make over 290ft/lbs of torque for almost a 2000rpm range and I make over 300whp for a 1000rpm range. I thought it was a rather broad power range.... Not large displacement broad, but still not bad...
More than anything, in that run, I needed to pull fuel before 5000rpm which I now do. It could use a lot more timing too in some areas. BTW for anyone who doesn't know, this is on a 2.4liter engine. Bore=89mm, stroke=98mm.

Yeah, you're right. I was thinking of something else, then comparing the apples vs. the oranges in my head.
I'll bet it's fun in the rain, heh heh. Happy New Year! Time to bail. |
