OK, yeah we all know the org has it's problems, but now that we have a new admin, maybe things will pick back up. Sprint seems to be on top of things as far as the feedback/suggestions go. I guess time will tell (when it finally comes back online)
95maxsewv: Try and get in touch with SprintMax after the org comes back up. He is the new Admin and seems to be a realy good guy. I'm not saying Kev and Jane (current admins) aren't good people, they just have alot of personal issues they are dealing with on top of running the org. turk66460: you don't need to make a donation to join. out of the 33,000+ members on the org, less than 200 are donating members. the errors with joining stems from the fact that the admins don't have enough time to contribute to the org. that's why they've taken on a 3rd admin, SprintMax, to help them with the workload. Also, the org is currently not even taking donations, since it takes time for the admins to process the donations and change the user status (time which again, they don't have). SprintMax is currently working on a way to automate the donation process. Ceasar: the search is disabled because of the load on the server. The server does not have enough processing power for handling multiple search requests on top of it's regular load. it's too resource intensive. I prsonally think they should move to a new hosting company since this one seems to be rather poor in keeping the server running smoothly. Also, i'm sure it doesn't help that the org is still running a beta release of vbulletin 3 (vb went "gold" back in march and is currently on release 3.0.3). Sprint assures me that they will be upgrading to a gold release of VB soon. Maybe they'll even do that during the current downtime. As for the trader ratings, yes that was a cool feature, but it was only available in version 2.x of vb. Jelsoft removed it from the features when they began developing 3.0. As of 3.0 going gold, i haven't seen any mention of returning the feature. |

Re: Maxima.org
I've been a member for almost 4 years. I have a maxima.org sticker on my car.
They suck now. I haven't been able to use the search feature, etc. It was a good site, but they can't run it. It's frankly useless without the search. If I have a problem, and I want to see a thread about it, I am not going to go through pages and pages of threads. Which is why I am here. |

Re: Maxima.org
So...what's up with this forum???
Am I the only one that gets "the server is too busy at the moment" messages??? Then it loses whatever I was typing at the moment. This happens about every 5th post or so, sometimes more often than that. |

Re: Maxima.org
There are more people joining everyday and Igor, the engineer and inventor of these forums, had been and still is, I believe, trying to expand these forums. Sometimes the forums just become swamped. This place is much bigger than the .org and is not just a Maxima forum. This place should be a wealth of knowledge in a littlw while if all you Maxanatics keep coming over here.
