my dilemma
ok, my mom was looking into buying a jaguar the other day and i interrupted her thought by showing her an S2000. she really likes the car (white with the red seats) and actually would buy it. but its standard, she can't drive stick. what do i do?!? how can she learn fast? or do they make a special auto edition i don't know about? i know it'd suck to have an auto s2k. but i'd take any s2k to drive over my civic. "MOM i need to borrow your car for the night!" lol

s2000 only comes in a 6 speed stick shift. A standard transmission is not hard to learn. The cutch engages while barely releasing it. The s2000 shifter has very short throws and the gears are space very close together. Just becareful with downshifts. My girlfriend who has never driven a stick never stalled it once while I was teaching her.
The jaguar and s2000 are completely different cars. What type of Jaguar is she looking at? |

Tranny tranny tranny....
Sup man. The reply posted above is correct. There is NO Automatic transmission for the S2000. One of many reasons is that the S2000 is running on a F20C engine. I'd like to remind you that the F20C engine is the most HP per Litre engine to date. Producing 240HP on 2.0L. You HAVE to be in some AWE of that fact. Also another reason is that the S2000's red line is at 9,000RPM. In order for this to be smooth and not "jerky" the tranny was placed with 6-speed gear box. Most automatic transmission is 4. It is not hard to learn the manual tranmission. Expecially with Hondas. They have rather smooth shifters and easy clutch. Here are some pointers: Tunr your engine on, put the clutch all the way down. Than place the tranny into 1st gear. Slowly (and I MEAN SLOWLY) release the clutch(not all the way...1cm at a time) until you hear a small metal "grinding" sound. Don't worry this won't hurt the engine. Now...when you hear the "grinding" sound hold where the clutch is and memorize where it is. That is where your clutch meets the engine. Memorizing this will help you reach better shifting and faster, smoother shifting. If you want reasons, you can use to convince your mom, why S2000 is a good purchase, get back to me. I'll be glad to lay out the most nuts and bolts of S2000. And believe me..itz an AMAZING car.
