I need Glow gauge help!
I bought reverse glow gauges, and when I got them I noticed the switch for the inverter was not there, it was snaped right after the wires. So I know it was shipped that way, anyway I dont want to send it back and wait three weeks for a new one. will it work if I put a toggle switch where the normal switch should be?? Or maybe use the stock dimmer switch?? and has anyone put these in a Eclipse gs, cause my gas needle got moved and Im afraid it might be screwed up for ever now.

Re: I need Glow gauge help!
Im not really sure what all that inverter does. I doubt its just a power supply, dont those gauges change colors from green to blue or something? You can try and hook power up to them and see if they work.
As far as the gas gauge go fill up your tank all the way and then put the needle on the full mark and you should be fine. Our fuel gauges isint that accurate anyways so you will be fine.

Re: I need Glow gauge help!
You need to know what the purpose of that box was before you try and wire these gauges up. It could have just reduced the power down to 3.5v or something like that. I would contact the seller and see if he knows what it does or what the output voltage is. Maybe someone else on here has them and could help.
But I would not just hook them to the dimmer or a 12v source until you find out something about that box.

Re: I need Glow gauge help!
It has the box thing, its the on off switch thing that is snapped off.

Re: I need Glow gauge help!
All it is in an on-off switch? Then just wire it up to your dimmer switch.

Re: I need Glow gauge help!
If they're like the glow gauges I had, that "on-off" switch turns them from blue to green, it's not an actual on-off switch, and the dimmer switch dims them. They will turn on as soon as power is turned to them (i wired them to my lights switch), and then you adjust the colors/brightness with the rocker switch and dial. You need to use that box for them to work, its some sort of a dimmer/power source, they will not work if you just hook them up to a regular switch, or they will burn up right away. Send them back and get a set that works.

Re: I need Glow gauge help!
Cool Ill try that, thanks for your help. Do you know a good place for the 12 volt source thats close to the gauges. I know there is a yellow wire going to the clip in the center that goes into the back of the cluster, but im not sure what color stripe it has.

Re: I need Glow gauge help!
Find a wiring diagram and wire them into your parking lights at the switch on the steering column.

Re: I need Glow gauge help!
I have a set of reverse glow gauges lying around here if your interested? I don't want too much for them so make me an offer and you can use the wiring from the switch.

Re: I need Glow gauge help!
Well thank you guys for your help. I hooked them up, and just wired them to an old rocker switch I already had installed and they work great. Not only that but I finally got a message back from the company I bought them from and they are sending me a new inverter for free without me having to send the old one back. So that means I gots a backup now .
