Detroit however will be the venue for them to launch their bizarre Merlin roadster. The front wheel drive trike is powered by a 102bhp motor and is driven through a four speed 'box. Front suspension is coil-over hydraulic shocks in a twin A-arm unit. The solitary rear wheel hangs on a single sided swing arm. Reservations are currently being accepted to secure first run units that will be produced in 2002. A $1,000 reservation towards the $23,900 selling price secures your Merlin." Link: www.corbin.com |

RADICAL SR3
"Following a successful series of tests at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground, Donington Park, and Rockingham Motor Speedway, Radical Motorsport are all set to launch their new Radical SR3 two-seater sportscar at the Autosport Show next week.
The car boasts a 0-60mph time of 3 seconds, a massive 2g cornering force and a fully integrated FIA-approved roll cage. Radical Motorsport have set out to build a car that will be fun to drive, provide high levels of safety whilst still remaining accessible with prices starting at £22,000 plut VAT. Like the Westfield XTR2 that it goes head to head sport it can be supplied in a road legal configuration aimed squarely at the track day market. They also claim that in its full-race Supersport guise, the SR3 is an affordable stepping stone to Le Mans! With over 20 deposits already in the bag, and a new 25,000 sq. ft. production facility at Peterborough, Radical could now expand from its racing car roots into a highly successful extreme sportscar manufacturer." |

Moonster
"The winning entry in the first ever Peugeot on-line car design competition has been unveiled in full size glory.
The work of young Yugoslav designer, Marko Lukovic, the winning Moonster design beat some 2,000 entries submitted in the competition, called ‘Design the Peugeot vehicle you would like to be driving in 2020’. This ‘real life’ Moonster measures 4 metres in length and features an aluminium body, two in-line seats and polycarbonate windows. Launched at last year’s Paris Motor Show, the competition was designed to attract entries from around the world, and included 139 submissions from Russia, 100 from the USA, and 74 from Columbia. All designs were submitted on-line, 50 of which were then presented on the Peugeot website for visiting surfers and journalists to cast their votes. "We wanted to look outside the automotive sector for design inspiration," said Gérard Welter, style director at Automobiles Peugeot. "Marko Lukovic is passionate about nature, comic strips and fictional cinema, elements of which can be seen in his Moonster concept." The life-size Moonster was created under the supervision of the Peugeot Style Centre, and measures 4 metres long, 1.95 metres wide, 1.65 metres high, with a 3 metre wheelbase. The original design featured an engine positioned within the wheels. A student at the University of Applied Design in Belgrade, Mr Lukovic has already received the first prize of 5,000 Euros, and will be presented with his life size creation following the motor show." |
