'04 TL torque steer

I am considering buying the '04 TL with a 6MT. I read an article in Car and Driver about the TL and they were down on the car because of front wheel drive vs rear wheel drive and the torque steer. They claim it's (torque steer) less evident in the automatic transmission model. Does anyone on this forum have a '04 TL with 6MT? If so, what are your feelings, recommendations? Likewise from any '04 TL owners with an automatic transmission. I am familiar with torque steer from driving my wife's '04 Maxima just wondering if the torque steer is dangerous on hard excelleration? Thanks

In all honesty, I'd take each model out for a spin, and see which one feels and handles better uopn that concern. Also consult with the dealer about the concern as well. I wouldn't see how they can allow the car to have enough torque steer nowadays to be dangerous, but I'm sure it could happen.

Re: '04 TL torque steer

You get used to the torque steer quickly...it's a bit weird at first. You only really have to worry about the Torque steer if you go FI and get a significant increase in torque.

The Maximas 5th and 6th Gens Torque steer is pretty bad.

The 04 TL is just about as bad.
