Horsepower and Torque

Any of you guys have any idea of some affordable ways to add some acceleration to my truck (2000 GMC Jimmy 4dr 4x4). Anything you guys have tried that has worked.

Currently I'm thinking about a K&N FIPK and an exhaust. I want to keep the cost of parts in the $500 dollar range.

Thx.

Search for intake and exhaust on www.completeexhaust.com. I got my FIPK for $200 and a flowmaster super 40 for $75. Also check truckperformance.com for same stuff. go for a good set o plugs and wires also.

Re: Horsepower and Torque

if you want a K&N CAIntake, check Ebay often for about a week. You will be surprised at the differences in prices. I found mine for $150 after seeing many on Ebay for 220, 250, and 275 !

I have purchased almost everything off of ebay.

Nothing wrong with it at all.

Buy an ebay intake, they cost about 30-50 bucks and perform just as well as the K&N without the 150-200 name on the side of it.

Look here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/96-05...92244927QQrdZ1

Also, do the exhaust first before an intake but don't install a Flowmaster, their deflectors and baffles hinder exhaust flow and actually will reduce horsepower when compared to other performance mufflers.

Get a Ravin Z55 or a Flo-pro.

All said and done you will maybe have to spend $200-250 total.

Re: Horsepower and Torque

how come I can never find any thing for my truck on ebay?

and any thing that I find for a 4.3L Jimmy/Blazer is for a different year than mine. I just made a mistake of buying a short ram intake for a 95', and i have a 94'. never again. the thing didn't fit, kept rubbing against my pulleye and belt

What was the auction listing?

Did you make sure it was for your engine?

There is lots of stuff for 1995's on ebay, trust me, I know, I own one.

Re: Horsepower and Torque

I just do regular searches. i just did a search between the years 1994 / 1994. and found nothing for a 4.3L engine.

Before I bought it I made sure it was for a 4.3L engine, but I didn't think that 1 year would make all that much of a difference on the placement of the intake. But for $30, it didn't really matter to me.

It doesn't make a difference unless you bought it for another engine.

Give me the link to the auction listing you bought from so i can see the problem.
