Modelling in Aus!

OK, I am getting used to modelling here now, and my first impressions are a bit dissappointing!
I didn't bring enough stuff with me, and so am missing things I could have squeezed into my case! But there is nothin I can do now!
Paint wise I have found Revell enamel and Gungze Sanyo, the latter doing very nice lense paint but odd silver metallics!

Everyone is Holden crazy here, and they tend to collect the 1/18th Biante Die casts rather than build anything! Their loss!
I bought a season review tape fo the V8 supercar series. I am so in the mood for a V8!!!
I have found only 2 Tamiya kits in the whole of Melbourne, the new Beetle and a CLK GTR!
I have just extended my stay to for another 4 weeks, and will take in the Australian Grand Prix, so I may well finish both the Skylines AND start another kit, probably the WRX!
There are a few Fujimi kits here, such as the RX7s and the S15.

Finally, you guys would all just DIE when you take in all the cars here! I really have NEVER seen anything like it!
Just one road we cruised up last night had 2 Ferrari 355 Spiders, 993 Porsche Turbo, 300SL Merc and various Japanese GT cars.
Every journey is littered with STIs, Ferraris, Holden HSVs and a littering of everything we model on the Japanese front!

Man, I LOVE IT HERE!!!

Well, I am part of this late night posting crew too!

I am working on a website while I am here too! Almost done!
As for the Aussie V8s, I am after a couple of Biante 1/18ths, probably the Skaife Holden and the Lownes Falcon, and also the game EA are doing based on the V8 Supercars.

Ok guys, forget what I said about Melbourne lacking! We hit the jackpot today!
Hobby World in the Centre has pretty much EVERY kit available at the moment! Tamiya, Fujimi and Revell.
From the rare ones like the Eggenberger Sierra, to the latest 350Z Nissan. Full range of Tamiya, Humbrol and Testors paints, as well as stuff like Bare Metal Foil and all the Tamiya spray cans.
They have the R32 Road Skyline, as well as each of the variants, and all the 1/12 Skylines.
The Fujimi 512TR was there, as well as every tuned variant.
The Fujimi garage and tools, STI Subarus, EVO VI Lancer, S15 Silvias, the list goes on...

So I can move here with confidence, I have found my second home!!!

P.S. Also booked the tickets for the F1 Grand Prix! I am on corners 1+2, Brabham Grandstand, centre section, third of the way up!
Look for me when the race starts!!! I am there all four days too! Man, this is the life!!!

Outta interest does your world tour include an NZ Leg because if it does then visit Auckland and you will think of your days in Melbourne as dull

But I, like you was disapointed at the lack of decent modelling kits in Aussie as well, it's all built up scale models
