A/C Compressor
I have a 1995 Lumina APV 3.8. I plan to replace the A/C compressor. Bought a Ready Aire compressor but need to know what kind and how much PAG oil to use. 150, 100 or 46?
Thanks! Roland |

Re: A/C Compressor
It should say in the info in the box with the new compressor- but pag 150 is what I use- also it should be on the accumulator label under hood.

Re: A/C Compressor
Some compressors come dry, and some have oil in it...
The usual rule of thumb is: Take the drain plug out of the old compressor....and drain the oil into a measurable cup.....drain the fluid(if any out of the new compressor)..... If you drained 2 oz or less out of the old one, add 2 oz to the new one.... If you drained more than 2 oz out of the old one, add the same amount to the new one.... |

Re: A/C Compressor
Actually (or unfortunately) there was no paperwork at all. I bought it off of Ebay Motors. It is a remanufactured unit by Ready Aire.
