power door locks lock me in!
Please help if you can so that I can stop climbing out of the passenger side! The power door lock tries to actuate, then can't, then returns to the locked position. I think I need a new motor, or a relay, or door latch. Any tips? Thanks a mil!

does the key work from the outside? you can take the door inner cover off fairly easily, and push the lock button and see what's happening from the inside. do some reverse-engineering. are you in oak park by TO/Westlake?

WD-40 use #5001
Brake cleaner works good to clean power antennas, but not power window parts. I would have used WD-40 sooner but I didn't have any on hand. Luckily I had the door panel off when it the door closed for the last time. I push and pulled all the rods and solenoid but it was not enough. Finally a good shower of penetrating lubricant and bang! it was back on line. Thanks for the support!
Yes, I'm in Thousand Oaks. |
