Lightbulb Nissan 300ZX TT vs E36 BMW M3

I currently own a '93 Honda Prelude VTEC but I'm looking to buy a car with a little more power and torque, not to mention rear wheel drive. The two cars I am most interested in are a '94 300ZX Twin Turbo and a '96 BMW M3. Tell me what you guys would choose.

Bmw if i were you , but if you want to tune-up the car , than 300zx has better potential because it's turbocharged. Anyway i'd take the BMW...

Get the Bimmer.. 300zx's are expensive to mod, and also a pain in the ass to work on. You ever looked on the engine compartment? You gotta practically pull the engine out to change the spark plugs. Plus the BMW is a BMW.. The ultimate driving machine

if you're looking at modding the car, go with a 95 m3 for the OBDI setup. (96+ is OBDII - not as mod friendly). otherwise, it'll be more difficult (and expensive) to see gains from the bimmer. if you're looking for a good stock car, i'd take the m3 over the 300z. switch out the plastic water impeller and your engine will run forever with proper care.

oh and for what it's worth, i drove a 94 prelude vtec before the m3(loved that car). if you liked the handling on the prelude, you'll love the m3. if you haven't already test driven it, do it and you'll see what i mean. can the 300z seat 5?

Tuning potential for the 300ZX is indeed almost infinite, but i would go for the Bee Em also

go m3 b/c you can move around in the engine bay...

you have to drop the subframe of a 3zx to get comfy workspace, and you have to trim and be careful puttin in bigger turbos b/c the space is soooooo tight...

go for the m3 b/c you dont have the fixit/upgrade headaches...
and hicas is expensive to fix... (the rear steer option) it also weighs alot...

Eh!? Nissan sold HICAS to BMW???

HICAS kicks ass at low speeds, but at higherspeeds it makes the car more unstable, hence the reason Nissan dropped it from the GTR.

Hate to say it but the M3...in a straight line drag/top end highway pull war I take the 300ZX TT...in aftermarket hmm...I guess I'd take the M3 just b/c it's a more complete vehicle handling and acceleration wise...

i meant that you don't have to fix the hicas as a reason for getting the beemer...

i just realized something here. if you guys think gettin parts for a 300ZX is expensive? then what do you think about BMW dealer parts? nissan? bmw? nissan? bmw? alright BMW is waaaaaaaaaay more expensive then nissan parts. sorry. so with the same money infested both cars, the Z32 will come out on top. maybe if it was the euro spec M3 with 321hp instead of the watered down usdm spec with only 260hp.

Re: Nissan 300ZX TT vs E36 BMW M3

BMW from 95-96 is junk, a few of my friends had those older m3's, even the 97's and those things were junk, interior was like a ford.
