Auto dimming mirror

I just bought a 2005 Excursion XLT. It did not come with the auto dimming mirror option, and I would like to add one. Does anyone know if the wiring for this mirror option is up in the ceiling in which case all I would need to do is plug the new mirror into a connector?

Angry Auto dimming mirror

Never mind, I took down the ceiling console and the wires were not there. If you do not have the option, they do not provide the connectors on this vehicle.

Re: Auto dimming mirror

Do you have lighted vanity mirrors in your visors? Take some wire (same gauge as the wiring to your mirror lights) splice them, and that will give you an adequate power source to add an electrochromatic rearview mirror. It's easy to do because you wont have to trail the wire all through the vehicle
