$100 barn find: concept sketches
My friends uncle picked this up for $100. A 1968 Checker Aerobus, 6-door
I couldn't help myself but to throw down a quick sketch and try to spark his interest. I think it could be a really cool project. Last edited by Stallion1114; 10-15-2010 at 07:24 AM. |

Re: $100 barn find: concept sketches
Awesome sketch! Did they actually make a 6-door?

Re: $100 barn find: concept sketches
Hello my name is Bear and I am a Checker Motors enthusiast. Congrats on your purchase. Checker made around 200 or so Six Door Aerobuses (much fewer than the eight door version) so you vehicle is rather rare. I am putting together an article for the Checker Club Newsletter about the Six Door Aerobus and would like to include yours in the article. I love your concept drawings also. Very nice work.

Re: $100 barn find: concept sketches
another really quick one. I think I like the idea of doing something with the pinstripe. Here I used like a charcoal/gunmetal checker over the base colors, then having the squares break up going forward into just a pinstripe.
To Bear, its not actually my car. It is a friend who picked it up. feel free to hit me up though cderamo@gmail.com and let me know what you had in mind. I'm sure he'll be excited about it. |
