constant blinker noise
I am desperately seeking someone who can give my dad and I some insight on why my damn blinker sounds ALL THE TIME! My blinkers work fine - all my lights do....but the sound of the blinker is constant even when the blinkers are off. Its driving me CRAZY! We've replaced the green box behind the hazzard lights, I think its called the multifunctional switch, 3 times now (my dad twice and the dealership once) and it is still sounding off. I believe by dad also replaced one of the relay switches?! PLEASE...HELP....ME

Re: constant blinker noise
There are normally two possible causes to the ticking noise... either the hazard switch is bad ( which you say that you replaced) or the Mutlifunction switch is bad. the multifunction switch is your actual turn signal lever. tHE 2001's were recalled for this problem. I'm not sure which part was recalled though but i know you can look it up on NHTSB and find out. If it's your part then the dealer will replace the part for free.

Re: constant blinker noise
I have found that it's not necessarily the switch or the box but it is the fact that the relay inside the box can have too much pressure on it. Have you installed an aftermarket radio or anything else? If that switch isn't mounted correctly and that box gets pinched it causes pressure on the relay which is enough to make the coils of the relay make contact. An easy check would be remove it from the dash panel, leave it plugged in of course, and see if it still does it.
