'96 Ford Contour hesitation problem
As I said in my earlier posts the car is good now,it doesn't shut off anymore but I've noticed something else. When I just crank it up it shuts off right away, so I have to do it a few times and then it stays on. This is the case only when the engine is cold, when warm it starts up right away and never shuts off.
While driving, when I just press the gas pedal lightly to go it hesitates a bit. I'm thinking maybe fuel filter or coils but I'm not sure. What do you think people?Thank you. Last edited by ekmarsal; 08-26-2004 at 01:37 PM. |

Re: '96 Ford Contour hesitation problem
i have that same problem when i step on the gas,but i also got a ticking noise.i just bought my 96 se and it had a gas smell in the oil,i figure that thats from a stuck injector and or a bad vacume in the fuel pressure regulator, but im not sure.if anyone has any ideas id like to hear them. thanx
