j30 sunroof leaks
i have a 94 j30, and my sunroof leaks when it rains.
can any one help with this problem, and how to fix it without going to the dealer |

Well.......
well Just Check if the sunroof close all of it also the one the opens a little check if it close and when you push it back then close it check if it closes also you can do is to check if the rubber that holds the sun roff is not cut or damage if it is water will get in there one way you can do it buy a new one or just put sillicon on it

The J's do have a common problem with sunroof rails .Make sure when closed both sides of panel are evenly flush with roof.If not you will have to change the rail{very expensive}.You may have to "wedge" the offending side up from the inside.Unfortunatly this disables sunroof operation.If this is not the case you need to replace the seal around the panel and check your 4 drains{corners}.To check drains open sunroof fully,pour a cup of water at each corner of the rail,water should exit behind each corresponding wheel.If you need to replace the seal around the panel let me know{it's a bit tricky releasing the inside finisher}.

found the front two holes ran a hanger down the two holes poued water there was some acorn seds blocking the hole removed and reamed the holes carefully... seen the water drain behind the wheels did not see the rear will examine more closely to find them thanks for the info.
