SES Light & Misfire Code

2000 Escalade
My SES light comes on and a code indicating misfire is in my computer.
The light goes off for a while but comes on again.
Happened 4 times in the past 2 weeks.
I drive my SUV really hard, 90 mph between Dallas and Austin, TX twice a week (2hrs 45min) and the SES light usually comes on when Im getting on the throttle really hard.
I have the truck serviced (oil changed/tires rotated) every month due to the hard driving and I have never had any trouble, it has been a great and reliable truck. 85K miles.
Any Ideas?

I think it is trying to tell you something.
Like it may need a tune up.
How long since plugs and fuel filter and stuff like that?

Tune Up, Plugs? at only 85K miles?
It runs great and always (and still does) gets 13-14 mpg hwy driving 80-90 mph.
I thought I would get a least 100K miles out of the plugs, wires and distributor cap. (GM Caddy Vortec 5.7 V8 - old style engine, 2000 Escalade)

Come on 85k on the plugs, it's ready. Or because this is a " Caddy" it just keeps going? The pcm is notifying you it's ready.

Well you can keep on driving it and when it burns up your ign syastem or a hole in a piston or lays down on the side of the road.
Just remeber what I said about time for a tune up.

Plugs and wires.. You drive it hard, so the ignition system works hard, too..

OK,OK, I give!
Everyone is right, its time for a tune up. Its a good truck and serves me well so it deserves a little TLC. Most reliable vehicle I have ever owned in my 28 yrs of driving and owning vehicles.
Ive been considering the '07 caddy escalade but dont know if it will be as reliable as my 2000.
