are alpine type s subs good? compared to comp vr's?

how good are the alpine type s subs? i'm not sure if i should get the type s in (2) 10"s, or get comp vr's in (2) 10"s.
which do you think are better?

how are you wiring the type R's to the Lanzar 1200D? are you running your amp at 2ohm or 1ohm?
