Ascent Dead Battery?
No category for the Ascent?
Got in my 2022 with a bit over 3000mi and everything on the dash was flickering, PRNDL lever was locked, would not start. Supposing that battery might be low, attached a charger. Radiator fan kicked on, relays clicking on/off, beeps, etc. Too much was going on in short order to take any note of cause and effect. After a bit of charging, things settled down and after a while, car was back to normal. The car started fine this morning so I am left with the question of what caused the drain. I suspect the back tailgate. For a while now, we have been getting random chirps while driving and have not figured out why. The back tailgate should open fully on its own but only opens partially. It closes fine. This is a warranty situation but I am just wondering if anybody has seen similar and found a cause? |

Battery definitely warranty. Rear hatch should a memory height button to set how far it opens, Check your manual.

Re: Ascent Dead Battery?
Yes, the tailgate height opening issue was due to the Memory button being pressed. Read the manual and resolved that "non-issue". The random chirps have not occurred again and the battery has held its charge...so far. The tailgate likely had nothing to do with the dead battery.
I will have the battery tested. My fear is an intermittent parasitic drain caused by something else. BTW, no ODBC codes set or pending. |
