Duratec drivetrain...

I have a 1998 Taurus SE with a 3.0L DOHC V6 and 4 speed auto/OD. I have 96,000 miles on it and it has been very reliable-so far. I change the oil frequently and don't abuse this car-which is why it's been a decent vehicle so far.

How reliable has this powertrain been? I know of horror stories with
earlier Taurus trannies, but I understand the newer models (1997 and
later) are much more reliable.

Ford's Duratec 3.0L V6 has been around for a few years now. How has
it stood up in terms of reliabilty over 100,000 miles? Most modern
cars should make it to at least 150,000 miles before any serious
engine/drivetrain repairs are needed-provided the vehicle is cared for
and not abused.
